Biography

Li Chuan, Attending Physician, MD. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College in 2016 and obtained a doctoral degree in plastic surgery. His research mainly focuses on the genetic mechanisms of congenital craniofacial deformities and microtia, as well as clinical and translational research on craniofacial deformity correction, facial aesthetic plastic surgery, and external ear reconstruction. Since 2016, he has been engaged in clinical and research work at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He has participated in multiple projects, including the National Public Welfare Industry Research Special Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Clinical Discipline Project of the Ministry of Health, the National Medical and Health Science and Technology Innovation Project of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Program “Capital Characteristics” Key Project, and the Capital Health Development Research Key Special Project. He has presented at numerous international conferences. He has led one project funded by the Institute/Hospital Research Fund. He has published more than 10 SCI papers and core journal articles.  
Technical specialties:
1. Facial contouring surgery: Flexible application of techniques such as zygomatic and zygomatic arch osteotomy reduction, mandibular angle osteotomy and contouring, outer cortex grinding/splitting, and genioplasty; three-dimensional digital technology is used to simulate and design surgical plans, comprehensively creating facial contours that conform to Eastern aesthetics.
2. Craniofacial deformity repair: Surgical correction of craniomaxillofacial deformities such as hemifacial microsomia, craniosynostosis, and maxillary/mandibular prognathism/retrognathism.
3. Ear plastic surgery and reconstruction: Highly realistic autologous costal cartilage external ear reconstruction; precise correction of various auricular deformities such as cup ear, prominent ear, Stahl's ear, tragus deformity, and accessory auricle.
4. Ocular aesthetic plastic surgery: Double-eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty in accordance with Eastern aesthetics; transcutaneous/transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty for eye bag removal; orbital septum fat release to fill tear troughs, etc.
5. Nasal aesthetic plastic surgery: Personalized design and selection of materials such as autologous costal cartilage, auricular cartilage, septal cartilage, and implants to comprehensively adjust nasal morphology and create an Eastern-style beautiful nose.
6. Minimally invasive injection aesthetics: Botulinum toxin injection for masseter hypertrophy, crow's feet, forehead wrinkles, etc.; hyaluronic acid or autologous nanofat injection to fill nasolabial folds, tear troughs, temporal hollowing, etc.; skin booster injection to improve skin.
